Multicultural Coalition

Inclusion in the outdoors outreach and awareness objective: create safe spaces for all people of color to enjoy the outdoors; introduce inviduals and families of color to the outdoors. Served hundreds through active outdoor programming and presentations. This was done by supporting and organizing group outings for culturally based organizations as well as providing programming focused on inclusion in the outdoors.

Health care equity objective: provide barrier-free access to information and resources to health care and vaccinations. Reached more than 30,000 individuals with health information and resources specifically in areas such as vaccinations, health insurance enrollment and re-enrollment. A large portion of this secondary reach was through media coverage and social media information. Hosted and participated in approximately 40 outreach events and 50 home visits.

Systems change-urgent needs food program objective: create a barrier-free system of meeting newcomers needs to access culturally based foods with wrap around support of resources and basic needs: began working with community members to create a barrier free way to access culturally based foods. Specific focus on barriers such as transportation, language and sourcing and integration of fresh/culturally based foods and produce.
