Program areas at Mountain Communities Fire Safe Council
The Mountain community Fire Safe Council (mcfsc) promotes community Fire awareness and has implemented a Fire abatement program. The organization has been very successful in obtaining grant funding to assist property owners abate their properties in accordance with federal and state Fire Safe regulations. This lessens the burden of catastrophic Fire within our community. The organization also actively recruits volunteers within the community to assist others and by so doing, we provide a forum between the public and government agencies to communicate and disseminate information. By being so successful in educating the public, mitigating Fire hazards, helping others and working closely with community Fire agencies, our community is much safer. For financial reporting purposes only, in 2022, mcfsc reported $169,657 in donated Fire abatement services as both excess in-kind contribution revenue and as donations and volunteer service expenses pursuant to the requirements of the usda forest service grant and u.s. gaap.
