Mothers Out Front is a member-led climate justice organization. We are Mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and other caregivers coming together to make climate justice a priority issue that our decision-makers can no longer ignore. We are building a powerful grassroots movement to ensure a swift, complete and just transition away from fossil fuels and toward a clean and renewable energy future where our children and families can thrive, not just survive. (continued on schedule o)concern for children in a world increasingly impacted by climate change is an issue that unites Mothers across lines of race, class, and generations. We work to ensure all Mothers are equally welcome in our movement, centering racial equity in everything we do. We continue to expand our organizing in frontline communities, building cross-issue alliances and developing an inclusive leadership structure for our member-led movement, while applying a racial equity lens to our own internal development.building on best practices from other successful social movements, Mothers Out Front centers our organizing around one-to-one relationship-building. In initial team-building gatherings, members learn about the science and urgency of the climate crisis, share personal stories, and reflect on the power of Mothers, working together, to bring about social change.the community teams built through these connections work to pursue change, beginning at the local level. Campaigns may include pushing local school boards to transition from diesel to electric school buses, opposing the buildout of polluting new fossil fuel infrastructure, or pushing for more effective, multi-lingual outreach for weatherization programs in environmental justice communities. Our teams strategize, meet to educate elected and business leaders, testify at hearings, and plan and show up at rallies and other events. When our teams win campaigns, they build power, and when they work together with other local teams, we achieve meaningful influence and impact at the state level, with state-level wins that increasingly include aggressive new climate legislation.our 40,621-person base includes a core of more than 2,300 active volunteers and leaders who dedicate regular time to our work. Our members are mobilizing for climate solutions within 40 teams across multiple states. We support their work with a full-time staff of 24 that includes on-the-ground organizers in California, Massachusetts, new york, Virginia and Colorado. We also have opportunities for digital engagement for moms and allies in areas outside of our staffed states; such as webinars, trainings, and online actions.we bring unique strengths to this work that allow us to "punch above our weight." We show up when it counts, in large numbers. Our volunteer leaders are passionate and credible. Their moral authority and their fierce determination to protect their children's future are impossible for elected officials and decision-makers to ignore. And we are good allies and partners, working effectively with others in the broader climate justice movement.
