The Moon & Stars Foundation organizational activities include:-presenting authentic, dynamic and educational performances of african(particularly zimbabwean) music through the continuation of foundation-basedperformance troupes: adult profession group kutandara & teenperformance group takapenga-presenting performance groups at community and civic events for educationof the community and support for charitable organizations-educating people of all ages in marimba skill and repertoire building withthe intention of fostering respect, connection, and appreciation forzimbabwean music along with other, related musical forms through lessons,classes, and camps-collaborating with other international, regional, and local performing groups to present this music to educate our community about the connectionsbetween zimbabwean music and culture and other musics and cultures-building community at events and in educational activities based aroundthe above described music-hosting an annual gala fundraiser to bring patrons together in support ofthis organization and its mission-continuing to foster relationships with international groups andinstructors-operating with successful best practices in education and nonprofitmanagement

Our Zimbabwe music and culture immersion trip allows students and supporters of moon & stars foundation to experience Zimbabwean music in its home culture and context. Participants collaborate with international artists, learn from Zimbabwean instructors on the ground in Zimbabwe, forge friendships across borders with Zimbabwean hosts and guides, and gain a deeper appreciation of musics power to promote peace.
