Moms Against Poverty

Hunger relief & basic provisions: in the united states, 241,500 lbs of food distributed to 18,567 families in ca, pa, az, and va; 100 families hit by floods in half moon bay, ca received food; 9,100+ items of personal hygiene were distributed to 6,500 children; 1,800+ toys, 230 blankets and 200 gift cards were provided to children and families during the holidays; 80 gift cards were provided to afghan refugee families in ca; provided meals for hundreds of students at 4 schools and affiliated preschools in senegal; supplied 111 children with monthly food provisions in cambodia; 16 orphanages catering to infants and toddlers in iran supplied with food and basic needs; 2,500 families in iran received food vouchers and packages; 10,000 families in iran received monthly bread; circa 4,000 nomadic students received breakfast at schools in iran; 9,500 children received winter jackets and shoes in iran; 20 families were given living and employment assistance in iran; 48 nomadic households in iran were connected with piped gas line.

Health care & wellness: in iran, eight sanitary facilities for nomadic communities were constructed, a comprehensive healthcare center for impoverished communities was built, 3 public hospitals providing services to low-income families and families with no insurance coverage were provided with equipment including incubators for the nicus; in the u.s., the organization delivered health education and blood pressure checks to children in partnership with nursing students; in senegal, the organization constructed a maternity clinic in a village and provided for health emergency program which covers students at all schools built by the organization; and in the philippines, we provided for medical expenses of young children at an orphanage.

Education: in iran, 20 school constructions were completed in impoverished regions to give access to education to marginalized communities, 3 empowerment workshops were training youth and female heads of households from marginalized communities, 1,000+ poor students received school supplies, ; in California, 6 stem workshops were conducted for afghan refugee girls, 250, school supplies were provided to needy children, computers were given to a ca-based organization devoted to youth impacted by commercial sexual exploitation; in senegal, a school was built in collaboration; in cambodia, the organization provided computer coding curriculum for youth and funded the education of 3 foster care program graduates to continue their university studies; in the philippines, school supplies were provided to kids in an orphanage.

Orphan care: in iran, three orphanages catering to children aged 3-18 continued to be operated; a new orphanage for girls aged 6-18 was renovated and equipped and then its operations were assumed; various equipment was provided to orphanages across the country; in the philippines, continued to partner with a local ngo to provide food, basic provisions, educational and medical expenses.

Disaster relief: in iran, following the tragic earthquake in khoy, the organization provided food vouchers for impoverished families affected by the disaster, as well as wheelchairs to residents, and vouchers to an orphanage in khoy; the following month in the in syrian/turkish border, earthquake hit and the organization provided funding for medical supplies for a hospital; in gaza strip, the organization provided funding for medical supplies for a hospital.
