Program areas at Missouri Corn Growers Association
Public PolicyThe goals for MCGA public policy for FY23 were to educate lawmakers about legislative issues impacting corn farmers and influence positive actions for corn farmers through legislation and regulation. Staff and monetary resources of MCGA public policy were used to work with other commodities to ensure livestock and row crop production remain viable in the state. To advance policy goals, a contractor is retained to work in the state Capitol, monitoring, reporting and influencing legislative issues that would impact corn farmers.
StalkTalkStalkTalk is a monthly newsletter published by the Missouri Corn Growers Association. Distributed in print and electronic versions, the publication is designed to educate MCGA members on current issues impacting the corn industry as well as highlight association activities.
MembershipMissouri Corn Growers Association membership programs goals in FY23 were to increase awareness of MCGA policy initiatives and build and retain grassroots participation from our members to assist in the carryout of the FY23 MCGA policy priorities. Staff held approximately 25 membership events to build membership and presented at industry meetings, education events, and trade shows. In addition, member benefit items were purchased to disseminate out to 1-year, 3-year and lifetime members. To assist in growing MCGA, approximately 20 mass mailings were conducted to advise members of events, renewal notices, call to action, and new benefits. Additional timely mailings were sent to prospective members and informational brochures on MCGA and its benefits.
