Statewide symposium: - Mississippi Healthcare Alliance (mhca) held a statewide symposium attended by 95 participants with emphasis on continuing education for stemi, stroke, sepsis, and out of hospital cardiac arrest. It was held free of charge to participants. - participants could earn up to 6.0 continuing education credits. Mhca partnered with merit health system, Mississippi nurses association, and the Mississippi state department of health (msdh) ems bureau to provide these credits. Quarterly meetings and bi-monthly meetings were held throughout the year. These were hybrid meetings, offering in-person and webex platform avenues for participation: - quarterly mhca statewide meetings were held to present aggregate stemi and stroke data. Data presented compared ms data, national data, and benchmarks to members. Updates from msdh, updates from partners of mhca, funding opportunities, and guideline updates were also discussed. - bimonthly stemi & stroke coordinators/data collectors' meetings were held at host hospitals across the state to discuss current challenges, share best practices, and provide training for aha gwtg stroke and acc's ncdr chest pain-mi registries.national registry partnerships: - mhca funded aha gwtg stroke registry costs for participating hospitals and the fee for platform usage for the Mississippi state department of health. - mhca funded acc's ncdr chest pain-mi registry for all the stemi receiving hospitals in ms. mhca also covers the cost for registry platform usage by msdh. - the mhca executive director uses the registry's dashboard for relaying information needed to improve care for the stemi soc. - mhca's director works with individual hospitals using data metrics in dashboard for process improvement projects.pulsara: - mhca offered partial funding (1/3 of renewal fee for one year) for hospitals who are up for renewal. - this software platform reduces the time to treatment for ems and hospitals regarding stemi and stroke. - hospitals and ems are also able to use this platform free of charge for numerous other activations, including in-hospital rapid response, general ems reports, trauma, surgical, and out of hospital arrest. - the platform also allows rural hospitals to consult with other hospitals for higher level of care decisions. Asls: - mhca continued to offer asls training across the state by partnering with provider facilities. - reimbursement given to hospitals for certification costs.mass marketing efforts for cv health promotion and population health efforts: - mhca funded public service announcements through amacker advertising agency to increase awareness of cardiac arrest/stemi/stroke emergencies, ems usage, treatment and therapies for cardiac arrest/stemi/stroke situations, and promotion of mhca's registry award winning hospitals. - mhca's social media presence expanded by adding 3 more social media platforms for psa and ms Healthcare providers of upcoming funding and educational opportunities. - maintenance of website and updates for website. Cpr in schools: - mhca provided funding 224 cpr kits for the aha train the trainer cpr in schools. - mhca partnered with aha and ms fire academy to secure training sites, advertising, implement registration, and provide training for ms school personnel.rapidai: - forty-two ms hospitals will be using artificial intelligence to help with detection of lvo, leading to rapid diagnosis, treatment, and appropriate transfer destinations. - mhca allotted a portion of the legislative funding to help hospitals get started with one ai platform called rapidai for 20 hospitals across the state. - rapidai integrates with pulsara to aid with quick diagnosis and transfer decisions/correspondence between facilities.cardiac arrest registry to enhance survival registry (cares): - mhca provides funding and oversight in the state of ms. The mhca's executive director serves as the Mississippi state coordinator for the cares registry, working with participating ems agencies and hospitals to improve emergency cardiac treatments across the state. - currently, mhca has recruited 28 ems agencies and 68 hospitals participating to include 81.9% data coverage of ms population. - cares training provided by mhca executive director to new participants and users throughout the year.educational partnerships: - Mississippi ems conference sponsor - various regional conferences sponsor - online ekg tutorial course offering - partnership with Mississippi center for advancement of prehospital medicine (mscapm), providing a generous donation for mscapm's program to teach emt classes in high schools across the state, preparing them for the completion of their training in ms community colleges.
