Food programs - we provided grocery assistance to 10,427 families at our village pantry (vp) and from our two monthly mobile food pantry(mfp). 40,317 individuals were provided food. The mfp serves residents of tarrant county on the second friday and fourth monday of each month. Both pantries provide food staples, as well as meat and fresh produce. The vp and mfp gave away 513,675 of food to our neighbors in need. Both serve a cross- section of people including families with young children, the elderly, veterans and people with disabilities. 115 volunteers worked 9,200 hours in the vp and 274 volunteers worked 2,264 hours in the mfp in 2022.
Village library - the village library provided after-school tutoring to students in grades 1-9 each week during the school year. Volunteers and staff worked one-on-one with students to help them complete their homework and build reading, writing and math skills. Most of the students we serve live in homes where english is not the primary language, so this help is crucial to their academic success. Students who are struggling in particular areas are also offered the opportunity to attend abbreviated tutoring sessions during the summer months. 27 volunteers worked 727 hours in the village library in 2022 .
Community resource center (crc)- the crc served 3,130 unduplicated households. Community resource information was distributed to families on topics including employment, transportation, medical care and adult education. Referrals were made primarily by our community resource coordinator and through our community nights events. These events provided education on topics such as budgeting and healthy eating, as well as resource referrals and connections from providers present at the events. In the post-covid environment, referrals were made primarily by staff and there were no volunteer hours in 2022.
