Program areas at Minnesota Tech for Success
The program involves refurbishing and recycling Computers that are donated by local corporations and government agencies. These Computers are then sold at discounted prices or gifted to Schools, teachers, not-for-profit organizations, and disadvantaged youth throughout Minnesota. Mcfs improves student Success by transforming computer technology to provide greater educational opportunities for students in Minnesota. In 2022, our computer refurbishing program was able to fill a crucial community need, refurbishing 9,304 Computers; recycling 284,648 pounds of used technology items; and placing over 3,366 refurbished Computers with Minnesota students and Schools.
Workforce development - in 2022 we went through a training program restructure, after the redesign we taught 67 students computer refurbishing skills, comptia it fundamentals +, comptia a+, and html5 & css basics. Additionally, youth programming included game, web, and app design through the mtfs youth learn training program. Classes were held virtually and onsite.
