Program areas at Minnesota Children's Alliance
The Minnesota Children's Alliance (MCA) is an accredited state chapter of the National Children's Alliance and works with centers in Minnesota to meet the child advocacy center accreditation standards. MCA supports MN children's advocacy centers (CAC), their partner multidisciplinary teams, and all communities responding to child abuse allegations through multidisciplinary teams, developing local CAC's and supporting professionals in the field through training, research and advocacy in education on public policy. Services include supporting established CAC's, assisting local communities develop new centers and multidisciplinary teams, promoting and educating on best practices in child abuse investigations, and trauma-informed services. The organization assists staff of member organizations with statistical analysis, database entry, case tracking, inventory maintenance, coordination, record keeping and scheduling. They help determine the best ways to assist victims and families obtain mental health services and overcome barriers to receiving treatment. Sponsorship is available for attendees to the national conference, and funds are awarded to assist affiliates with meeting the accreditation standards of the National Children's Alliance.
