Program areas at Minnesota Campus Compact

"civic leadership initiatives"in partnership with Iowa Campus Compact (iacc), both organizations held an online "civic action academy". This event promoted civic engagment, leadership, and community organizing throughout different sessions. "americorps program""minnesota Campus Compact serves as the grant sposor for americorps vista. The vista community corps program places service members of all ages and background at institutions of higher education as well as at community and Campus collaborations in the effort to alleviate poverty. Mncc faciliates sercie for Minnesota host sites, managing all federal reporting and grants. From july of 2021 to june of 2022, iamncc vista projects served more than 25,000 individuals and generated over half a million dollars ($582,094) in cash and in-kind resources. The range of projects carried out by iamncc vista members include building the capacity of organizations and communities to develop on-campus resources that support students' basic needs, fight food security, and improve public health initiatives through community-engaged research. During this time, there were 22 vista members and one vista leader serving 18 sites across Iowa and Minnesota. The iamncc summer vista program grew during this time period as well, with 38 summer vista associates serving 14 host sites in the summer of 2022. Summer programs focus on combating summer slide through reading programs for children and helping refugees and immigrants battle food insecurity through community gardening. "grants program"mncc, in partnership with hamline university, augsburg university, and st. catherine university, was awarded a usda national institute for food and agriculture community food project plannig grant to address student food insecurity and promote food justice in/with community food ecosystems. "recognition program" -both iacc and mncc create an annual recognition program where both state instituions participate by nominating. Twenty-two campuses participated in the presidents' engaged Campus awards this year. Individuals from both states were recognized for extraordinary civic and community engagement leadership among students, faculty, staff, and community partners from both Iowa and Minnesota.
