Mindful Community: Our Mindful Community whole-school program provided over 20,000 students with mindfulness-based social emotional programming weekly during the 2022-2023 school year. The 25-minute sessions help cultivate a whole-school foundation of mental wellness and emotional intelligence through lessons delivered weekly during the regular school day. Mindful Community is particularly impactful as its social-emotional learning programming is delivered to every student on a school campus, emphasizing the school's cultural focus on wellness. Mindful Community has helped schools cultivate ecosystems of mental health and wellness, which can lead to thriving school environments. In the 2022-2023 school year, 93% of students stated that mindfulness was important to them. MLP asked teachers to rate our programming on a scale of 1-10. The following metrics are how the scoring is being interpreted: [10-9 - extremely effective, 8-7 - very effective, 6-5 - effective, 4-3 - not effective, 2-1 - extremely ineffective]. Teachers rated Mindful Community a 7.7/10 (very effective) for helping create healthier learning environments in the classroom, with a reported gain of 19 minutes of average quality teaching time per day as a direct result of MLP's programming! Overall, 84% of teachers reported that they saw improvements in their students' self-awareness, and 77% of teachers saw improvements in their student's ability to relate to one another. In all, Mindful Community betters schools' climates to emphasize the importance of mental and emotional health by providing students with mindfulness based tools.
Hybrid Services: MLP offers a hybrid whole-school program, Mindfulness 360. Mindfulness 360 is a customizable program that includes a combination of mindful hip hop assemblies, weekly live virtual mindfulness sessions, in-person classroom sessions, teacher professional development sessions and regular mindfulness sessions for teachers & families. Using a highly flexible model of programming, Mindfulness 360 can accommodate nearly every social-emotional need of students. During 2022-2023, Mindfulness 360 was highly sought after, with over 25,000 students receiving services! Schools ranged in location from Monterey, Stockton, Vallejo, San Jose, and San Bruno. In fact, 89% of Mindfulness 360 students stated that MLP helped them understand how important mental health is! MLP also continues to offer mindfulness trainings for personal well-being to community-based and other organizations. Our training program is designed to support educators & communities, and provide them with tools and resources to create healthy thriving school & community ecosystems.
Rise Up: In the 2022-2023 school year, MLP's Rise Up program provided over 2,100 students with curated mindfulness-based support. Rise Up's signature programs feature a wide array of means to help high-need students and students impacted by trauma to explore lived experiences in an emotionally safe community alongside their peers. Using accessible avenues such as music, art, dance, poetry, yoga, and performing arts, all interwoven with mindfulness, students can explore different methods for healthy emotional release and inner exploration. MLP asked teachers to rate our programming on a scale of 1-10. Rise Up is an incredibly powerful program, with teachers rating it a 7.3/10 (very effective) for helping students improve their mental and emotional wellbeing, and a 7.2/10 (very effective) for helping students have the ability to manage and identify their emotions. To quote a teacher from a partner school, one of the highlights from MLP's programming was "The Rise Up Group has had a positive impact on one of my students. He looks forward to the meeting each week and I have seen his behavior improve."
