Program areas at Milestones Autism Resources
National Autism conference - Milestones' annual conference brings together parents, professionals, and individuals with Autism to share evidence-based strategies, learn about best practices, and network. Milestones' 2022 conference was a fully virtual experience with live components over two days and sessions accessible on demand for two months. 1,029 attendees, 77 workshops, 111 speakers in fy22. Sixty-three scholarships were awarded so all who were interested were able to access this learning opportunity.
Online Resources - Milestones connects autistic individuals, parents, and professionals with more than 1,400 Autism Resources, tool kits, a community calendar and frequently asked questions at www.milestones.org. Launched on our website in fy22, the Milestones Autism planning (map) tool is a free online resource to guide individual growth toward adult independent living. Essential skill areas include: social skills, safety at home and in the community, hygiene, self medical care, food/nutrition, household chores, financial literacy, employment, self-advocacy skills, executive function, and leisure skills. In each category we provide examples of skills and knowledge to learn. 139,703 unique visitors in fy22.
Program services Autism helpdesk - Milestones' free helpdesk supports families of autistic children and adults in learning how to access services, advocate on behalf of themselves and/or their child, and prioritize their personal and/or child's needs. Milestones provides tailored information about schools, therapists, doctors, support groups, and more. 725 served in fy22. Consultation and training services - Milestones provides fee-based consultations to families needing more personalized guidance. Scholarships are provided to families in need. 1,806 people participated in customized trainings to school districts, agencies, and professional organizations in fy22.
