Mid America Hockey Association

The Mid America Hockey Association (MAHA) is the governing agency for the Jr Mavs Youth Hockey Organization which has 18 youth hockey teams serving 171 young boys and girls participating for the 2014-2015 season. The Jr Mavs organization is based in Independence, Missouri, and plays out of the Independence Events Center. We offer players the opportunity to participate on house and travel teams in divisions from 8U through high school. MAHA also coordinates the Mid America High School Hockey League (MAHSHL) which has 9 Varsity and 9 JV high school hockey teams from Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. MAHA's most significant accomplishment is providing youth of the community an opportunity to learn a new sport and compete at a skill appropriate level from beginner to Tier 1 AAA, an advanced level of play. MAHA is focused on growing the game and has never allowed an inability to pay keep a player from participating in the sport.
