Operate Michigan mep Center with support from manufacturers, the us department of commerce nist Manufacturing extension partnership (mep), and the Michigan economic development corporation (medc). Projects focus primarily on quality, lean Manufacturing, six sigma, cyber security services, industry 4.0, research services, leadership, environmental, food, diversity, and growth services. Clients completing third-party post-project surveys in 2022 credited their mmtc projects with created sales of $148.2 million, retained sales of $603.5 million, jobs created and retained 7,607, new investments of $622.5 million, and cost savings of $83.8 million.
In pursuit of nist advanced Manufacturing Technology service funds, the mmtc, the Illinois Manufacturing excellence Center (imec), and the ohio-based Manufacturing advocacy and growth network (magnet) have created a partnership, d3+, to align and build upon ongoing and previously nist-funded efforts to implement project-based technical assistance on advanced i4.0 technologies, with an emphasis on serving the technology-based needs of u.s.-bases small and midsize manufacturers. D3+ will not generate any program income from this project. D3+ references the three regional partners and the three digital i4.0 technologies this partnership prioritizes automation and robotics, big data, and the internet of things with the + symbolizing their ability and willingness to provide additional support for other i4.0 solutions. Mmtc will be the recipient and receive $500,000 of the award, while imec and magnet will act as subrecipients and receive $250,000 each.
Mmtc has secured funds with the state of Michigan going pro training fund. The going pro training fund (gptf) makes awards to employers to assist in training, developing, and retaining current and newly hired employees. Training funded by the gptf must be short-term and fill a demonstrated talent need experienced by the employer. Training must lead to a credential for a transferable skill recognized by the industry.
Mmtc has secured funds with the state of mi to provide services in the areas requested by the Michigan strategic fund (msf) and support other Michigan economic development council (medc) business development efforts. The services include but are not limited to: matchmaking assistance in support of pure Michigan business connect (pmbc) requests, support for supplier summits; services to help manufacturers improve processes, increase efficiency & grow; and services in support of the medc business development efforts. In addition, mmtc supports the medc initiatives to advance various technologies and industry 4.0. The initiatives consist of six (6) development areas: marketing outreach, Technology roadshows, Technology assessments, process development, course training, and project management.mmtc has been awarded funds through the going pro talent fund (talent fund), which makes awards to employers to assist in training, developing, and retaining current and newly hired employees. Training funded by the talent fund must be short-term and fill a demonstrated talent need to be experienced by the employer. Training must lead to a credential for an employee skill that is transferable and recognized by the industry.
