Program areas at Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association
The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association is dedicated to providing information, resources, and support to individuals with Down Syndrome, their families, and their communities through improving awareness, increasing acceptance, and promoting inclusion. The Association serves individuals with Down Syndrome from diagnosis through adulthood, and provides resources to more than 200 families in 11 counties in the Miami Valley. The counties served include Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby. The Association maintains the www.mvdsa.org that provides information and resources. More than 75 meetings, activities, and events are held throughout the year that focus on education, growth opportunities, awareness, inclusion, and acceptance through social gatherings, public presence, and advocacy. Additionally, the Association provides an average of 50 grants for therapies, technologies, etc. that provide up to $400 for life-enriching opportunities for individuals with Down Syndrome, helping them to reach their fullest potential.
