Mercy Health Oklahoma Communities ("mhoc") is exempt from federal income tax as an organization described in irc section 501(c)(3) and qualifies as a public charity under irc section 509(a)(3).mhoc is a supporting organization of Mercy hospital Oklahoma city and Mercy hospital ardmore. Mhoc also provides support services to other members of the Mercy Oklahoma community, including Mercy hospital healdton, Mercy hospital el reno, Mercy hospital tishomingo, Mercy hospital logan county, Mercy hospital watonga, Mercy clinic Oklahoma Communities, Mercy hospital ada, and Mercy hospital kingfisher. The support services include functions that, but for mhoc, would be conducted by each separate supported organization. Mercy Health Oklahoma Communities supports Mercy hospital Oklahoma city and Mercy hospital ardmore in a leadership role as an advocate for responsible healthcare services in the community. Among the community support activities offered by Mercy are:-health education and wellness programs and other support group meetings offered to the community-health services such as Health fairs, screenings, and free clinics, pre-natal and well baby care-education is provided to Health professionals, including opportunities for clinical internships-subsidized Health services including hospice, home Health services, and disaster readiness -community Health research -cash and in-kind donations for events and fund raising-community building activities, in partnership with other community organizationsmercy Health Oklahoma Communities has a 45% interest in Oklahoma heart hospital,llc and a 12% interest in Oklahoma heart hospital south, llc, which are devoted to cardiac care.
