Researched, created content and met with countless stakeholders related to camp and aquatics safety ordinances in the nation's largest county (10 million) which led to the passage of the elena matyas camp safety ordinance and roxie's swim safe ordinance here in la county. Distributed roughly 500 mmf water watcher badges to prevent childhood drowning. Sponsored two dozen swim lessons packages for public school children through the rose bowl aquatics center. Produced ad campaign for camp and aquatics safety in the outlook newspaper group reaching 40,000 people. Provided comprehensive investigative research, legal consultation, advocacy support and emotional support related to a complex child drowning at a st. louis, mo county camp. Researched, drafted language, recruited sponsors, held numerous meetings and testified before multiple committees related to our state (ca) camp safety bill ab 1727 which affected more than a million children. Began directing a feature documentary about the dark american secret of pervasive summer camp harm and although mmf does not fund the film, it serves as sponsor through leveraging mmf contacts, brand recognition and resources.
