Their mission is to advocate for Mental Health, provide education, and offer supportive services.

Suicide prevention education: mhafred uses evidence-based training and practices proven to reduce rates of suicide ideation and suicide. Currently, mhafred pays licensing fees to present signs of suicide to teens, the population group experiencing the highest increases in suicide.
Helpline: mhafred continually contacts local Mental Health providers to obtain current information about insurance accepted, services offered, and if they are accepting new clients. This information is maintained in a searchable database available on mhafred's website, or for personal assistance, people can contact mhafred staff for help.
Senior visitors: rates of suicide remain high among older adults, and major depression is the leading indicator of possible suicide. As an intervention, vetted volunteers provide companionship to older adults who are isolated and lonely, which are the two leading risk factors for depression.
Support services: services include peer-led support groups for adults and clinician-led groups for children. Further, mhafred facilitates partnerships to increase community resources that address behavioral Health.
