Program areas at Medic One Foundation
Paramedic training & continuing education - the organization provided training for 22 paramedics from island, jefferson, king and snohomish counties; funded 120 hours of continuing medical education for 270 seattle and king county paramedics; and purchased additional training manikins so that paramedic students could meet social distancing requirements.
Promoted pulsepoint a mobile application that will alert cpr-trained citizens to a nearby sudden cardiac arrest in order to get cpr started in the critical lifesaving minutes before first responders arrive for king and snohomish counties.
The Foundation funded 13 emergency equipment grants to camano island fire and rescue, king county fire district #50, king county Medic One, kirkland fire department, king county search and rescue, renton regional fire authority, seattle fire department, snohomish county fire districts #19, #24, #25, and #26, south king fire and rescue, and whatcom county fire district #5.
Grants for special projects related to pre-hospital emergency services. Citizen cpr training and education, emergency medical technician (emt) scholarships, fire and ems advancement, vial of life, mental health resilience training, first responder gratitude meals, Medic One community awareness and other special projects.
