Program areas at May We Help
Custom solutions for people with disabilites. May We Help's core program makes wonderful things happen. In some cases, it brings independence to someone with a disability. In other cases, it allows someone to pursue a passion. And in yet other cases, it's life-changing for the caregiver. May We Help provides custom assistive devices to individuals with disabilities. Four years ago, May We Help had just one program and served 186 individuals. Now We have four programs, and this past year received just shy of 1,200 requests for our services, illustrating how We continue to Help meet needs in the community with our unique and critical services. (see schedule o for continuation)tinker toy boxbefore they turn school age, the way kids learn is through play. Kids with disabilities often don't have the fine motor skills needed to use the toys designed for their age group, and this can leave a huge gap in their development. May We Help's tinkered toy box solves this problem by providing free switch-adapted toys to children for the holidays. In 2022, We provided 200. In 2023, We provided 300! In 2023, We expanded the tinker toy box progrram to include workshops that teach parents, teachers and caregivers how to modify the toys themselves. The program still provides hundreds of modified toys(the fish) to children. The workshops teach participants how to fish!adaptive equipment swapmay We Help's adaptive equipment swap has transformed our region's access to life-changing equipment. We held our first swap in march of 2019, and to date have matched over 800 people with life-changing equipment!
