Program areas at Matthews Playhouse of the Performing Arts
Theater performances - hundreds of children participated in many performances, including several for students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Union County school systems. Thousands of students and members of the community attend these performances and other functions.
Educational classes and summer camps - Classes and camps are held throughout the year and are offered primarily for children and teenagers. Classes and camps include drama, voice, technical aspects of theater playwriting, improvisation, music, comedy, and summer and year long productions. Matthews Playhouse also has an intern and apprentice program in which children and young adults can participate.
