Program areas at Matrix A Parent Network and Resource Center

As part of the Northern California Coalition, Matrix serves as a federally-designated Parent Training & Information Center, providing information, training & support around disability issues to families of children with disabilities in Marin, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma counties. In addition, Matrix is funded through the California Department of Education to serve as a Family Empowerment Center. The activities conducted include more than 4000 contacts with families occurring in the last fiscal year, ranging from 1:1 consultations, facilitating support groups, providing trainings and workshops and attending critical meetings with some families, with an overall goal to assist families in seeking appropriate services and becoming their child's best advocates.
Matrix is designated as an Early Start Family Resource Center, providing emotional support and information to families with children, birth to three years old, who have special needs in the counties of Marin, Solano, and Sonoma. We help families learn important strategies in navigating complex systems, provide them resources to access necessary services and prepare them for many transitions over the life of their child.
