Program areas at Massachusetts Communities Action Network

Training and development-ne mid atlantic training on organizing where we both facilitated and had a dozen ma residents join. We led 2 train the trainers- in may and again in march- for a total of 52 participants. We ran school of liberation in august and trained 23 organizers and leaders from across the state. We supported school of prophetic Action trainings in 2 cities, engaging 110 leaders. We facilitated an ally meeting for lowell votes with 10 participants. We regularly coached and developed our 7 affiliate groups through individual meetings and group trainings.organizing - launched the people's budget committee, a statewide group of leaders focused on understanding and influencing the state budget. Took over the staffing of the second chance justice organizing committee who works to address systemic issues facing returning citizens.through our anchor position at delivering on equity collective we were able to bring in 23 member organizations focused on equitable investments in our state.education - across our affiliates we continued our advocacy around access to vocational education; in different affiliates across the state organized around the prioritization of esser funds; in worcester won the redistricting of the school committee; in springfield won 3.9million for mental health & racial sensitivity training; won 2.8 million in increased funding for youth works.
