Program areas at MCC
Children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are provided with employment placement, training, support services, personal supports, basic needs, and low intetsity support services. Maryland commuinty Connection, with its unique experiences, commitment, andstrong partnerships, serves and provides emotional support, training, employment opportunities and access to resouces on a case-by-case basis to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who want to achieve greater social and economic independence, and to be fully integrated into the community. Supported employment - job placement, training, transportation, and retention for community-based independent paid employment, personal, family and individual support services. Services to improve independence with medical appointments, community activities, etc. Low intensity support services (liss)-serving individuals in prince george's, montgomery, charles, calvert, and st. mary's counties. Services include assistive technology, camp, daucare, health services, housing adaptations, personal care, respite, advocacy, etc. Basic needs - assistance with food, rent, utilities, uninsured medical expenses to provide economic support and resources. Summer youth employment - opportunities for students with disabilities in prince george's county schools summer jobs.
