Program areas at Maryland Center for Collegiate Financial Wellness

Educational events and help sessions for federal student loan borrowers: MCCFW hosted several informational webinars for public service employers and provided employees with assistance in completing applications for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), Income-Driven Repayment (IDR), and/or consolidation where necessary to obtain federal student loan benefits. These offerings were provided to public servants for free with costs covered by philanthropic grants for pre-K thru 12th grade educators in Prince George's County and Baltimore City, Maryland. As of May 1, 2024, the organization has helped public servants gain approval for more than $17 million in loan forgiveness through PSLF.
Annual virtual Symposium for campus-based professionals and community partners: MCCFW hosts industry experts and campus personnel, mostly from Maryland, to learn, share, and grow collegiate financial wellness initiatives as a part of a larger effort to increase postsecondary student success. The Symposium is offered free of charge and drew nearly 200 attendees from across the nation and some international guests.
