Program areas at Mali Wellness Foundation
Water services: Drilled 10 wells and installed 10 solar-powered pumps and tanks on drilled wells. Water spigots installed throughout each village, hand sinks to school restrooms and water to the community garden. Mali villages served: Hirondelle, Tienko, Kemogola, Dossola, Dogo, Dialakoroni, Yerefounela, Bokoro and Tiesana. Also, drilled wells drilled for following 4 Mali villages: Bougoula, Sogoniko, Yamakoro and Tabakoro. Persons served: 32,184.
Health Services: Provided 591 female hygiene kits, 745 eye glasses, medical supplies for the hospital and 1 health clinic, 419 prenatal vitamin bottles, 464 newborn baby kits, 650 toothbrush/toothpaste kits; built a 2-room village health clinic at Dialakoroni village; installed 10 drip-line irrigation systems and planted 10 vegetable gardens at 10 villages; remodeled a blind school dormitory, restrooms and cafeteria for the Barmako Blind School; built an Eye Bank laboratory space in Bamako IOTA eye center with specular microscope and other equipment for the purpose of doing cornea transplant surgeries; and donated ophthalmology equipment for 13 exam rooms and an optical lens edger for the purpose of providing better eye care and eye glasses. Persons served: 52,100.
Education support: Built a new school with 4 classrooms, 4 restrooms, headmaster office and basketball hoop at Dialakoroni village. Also, provided 500 chalkboards, 30 sports uniforms, 33 basketballs, 48 soccer balls/nets, and 758 school supplies/backpacks to 7 schools. Persons served: 6,230.
