Making Hope Happen Foundation

Various programs in support of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. MHHF exists to support the educaitonal goals of SBCUSD students and the greater community. Outreach and collective impact efforts to that end are included in the expenses of the organization. From UPLIFT San Bernardino and Youth Mental Health First Aid to support for District Literacy Programs and school site needs, MHHF engages in smaller initiatives that align with our mission to serve the community.

KITS - Dr. Albert Karnig Infant-Toddler Success-merged with MHHF in September of 2018. KITS provides freek research-based parenting classes for families with children ages 0-5 that live in the boundaries of the SBCUSD. The purpose of the program iss to reduce and/or eliminate achievement gaps by training parents on how to make the most of the developmentally-critical years before age 6. To date, more than 1800 adults and their children have been served.

Mentor-Supported Scholarships - Scholarships given to graduates of SBCUSD high schools including the adult and continuatiion schools. Scholarships are $3,000 each, paid over two years and include a mentor for that same period of time. As of the end of the 2021-22 academic year, over 300 scholarships had been awarded since the inception of the program.
