Program areas at Madre Latina Organization
The Young Representative of Waterbury (YROW)is dedicated to empowering Latino youth students, helping them find their voice and create positive change. Through our programs, participants not only improve their high school experience, but they also learn how to build a strong network of support, discover new opportunities, and navigate the path to college. We believe in equipping them with the tools to pursue their dreams passionately. Since 2017, our Latino-led program has been dedicated to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. While we specifically target Latina teens in grades 8th through 12th. The program is also open to male students and students of other races. Our commitment does not end at high school graduation: we continue to provide support to our young people, ensuring they thrive in their post secondary endeavors.
Enhance Community Health Visibility: We aim to amplify the awareness and accessibility of health and wellness resources within the community. Promote Personal Health Awareness: Through engaging sessions, we seek to elevate individual understanding and well being in matters of personal health. Empower Positive Behavior Change: By offering a diverse array of health screenings and impactful speakers, we aspire to motivate participants towards making constructive changes in their behaviors The Latino Workforce is a comprehensive initiative dedicated to fostering self-reliance and independence among Latino individuals through personalized case management and meticulous care coordination. Despite a wealth of services and educational opportunities within the city, including those tailored to college graduates and professionals, numerous Latino job seekers remain uninformed about the resources available to find employment. Equally concerning, many are unfamiliar with their employment rights and the expectations they can rightfully hold within the workforce.
