Program areas at LMM
Housing & Shelter - The goal of LMM's H&S shelter work is that people experiencing homelessness are provided safe and secure emergency shelter alongside efficient and appropriate pathways to positive housing. Through high quality shelter services, collaboration , and client respect, LMM shelter programs will fulfill the agency's missional purpose of empowering, valuing, and healing people in crisis. In 2022there was a 19% increase in persons served for a total 3,816 which includes 273 families.399 of our residents were able to secure funding and 606 reported positive housing outcomes.
Guardianship Services - There were 106 new guardianships in 2022.Along with our 75 volunteers,20,202 hours of guardianship were provided. 5,600 hours of medical decisions were made on behalf of the Wards in our care. LMM provides guardianship of person for those who have been deemed incompetent by a court and have no suitable family to help them.
Youth Resiliency Services, - 4,200 shelter bed days provided; the length of stay for a young person averaged 22 days. 18 of our youth were able to secure employment.
Workforce Development trains individuals from the homeless and re-entry populations among others in employable skills while operating socially responsible businesses. The culinary training program is accredited by the Council of Occupational education to award associates degrees in Hospitality Management along with credentials to allow participants a faster way to earn the skills they need in the culinary field. LMM has 72% retention rate once placed in a job, a 76% graduation rate, and a 3% recidivism rate for those in our Chapping For Change Program.
Services continued in 2022 for individuals who are unhoused and impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These services included, Transition in Place (TIP), where some of the hardest to place persons were placed in apartments with landlords agreeing to a 12 month lease paid in advance; Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) which allowed many individuals to find shelter with family and friends by helping to support the additional expense of another person in the home, along with safe places for persons recovering from COVID to receive rooming, meals and medical oversight until fully recovered.
