HOUSE THE 9 PROGRAM - The mission of the House the 9 Program is the preservation and creation of homeownership and the resident-driven revitalization of our historic community. Years after Hurricane Katrina, we secured additional disaster recovery funding to rebuild the homes of 34 still-displaced homeowners. We are now working on the creation of additional affordable housing opportunities as well as focusing on preserving the homes of existing homeowners. Finally, we are working closely with neighborhood residents to create strong community structures for the ongoing revitalization of the Lower 9th Ward.
