>>> pro-life education programs motivated youth in 2023 <<<in 2023, we continued our mission To empower young people To protect Life and help moms through numerous pulse youth events and presentations.59 students were expertly trained at three pulse one weeklong pulse leadership institute. Our youth team made pro-life 112 presentations To 5,556 students at schools and churches around the state. During 2023, we impacted another 4,255 young people through our geaux forth event, outreaches online, at events, on college campuses, and other efforts. -in 2023, continued To train, facilitate and educate college pro-life. In 2023, there were 10 active college pro-life groups, with the addition of a pro-life student group at lsu medical school in new orleans. In 2023, we continued our "they're human too" college exhibit which visited multiple colleges, including southeastern Louisiana university and Louisiana christian university. The exhibit furthered productive conversation and education on Louisiana colleges and universities about Life.

We worked with legislators To continue To light the way toward mothers choosing Life and for their babies To be protected by law & welcomed with love. The adoption tax credit act by rep. rick edmonds provides a refundable $5,000 tax credit for adopting a child under the age of 3. Adoption can be expensive, and this will help adoptive families who are sacrificing To help a child.the pregnancy center tax credit act by sen. beth mizell establishes a state tax credit for citizens who donate To pregnancy resource centers that are qualified as "maternal wellness centers." Maternal wellness centers assist mothers with essential services such as prenatal and parenting classes, counseling, medical resources, and assistance with material needs. The goal of this act is To provide incentives for entities and individuals To donate To eligible maternal wellness centers that improve the quality of Life for Louisiana mothers and families.the pregnancy expenses fairness act by rep. larry frieman enables a mother To secure 50% of out-of-pocket pregnancy-related expenses from the father of the child.the abuser parental rights termination act by rep. jason hughes provides victims of sexual assault who become pregnant as a result of the crime against them To have the parental rights of the perpetrator ended. Louisiana Right To Life supported hb 298 To protect the rights of the heroic women who give their child the gift of Life, even in the most difficult of circumstances.hb 457 by rep. raymond crews allows a family To request a state certificate at no cost commemorating the passing of their unborn baby who tragically passed away through miscarriage. Babies that pass away through miscarriage deserve our respect, and hb 457 gives families an optional way To remember the Life of their child. Louisiana Right To Life also defeated legislation that would have led To more elective abortion in Louisiana. In may, Louisiana Right To Life hosted pro-life day at the state capital and had nearly 100 people participate at Committee hearings and join us for a meet and greet with Louisiana legislators. 10 pregnancy centers joined us in the capitol rotunda and we conducted a press conference after highlighting the work of rep. rick edmonds on the adoption tax credit. In 2023, Louisiana Right To Life provided three luminary publications To our luminary members, churches and other citizens and groups around the state. The luminary, a full-color print publication, includes in depth coverage of current pro-life issues, lartl events, and more. The luminaries in 2023 highlighted our january gala with tim tebow and our keep la pro-life rv tour.louisiana Right To Life shares the beauty of Life at the state fair of Louisiana in shreveport. Lartl staffed and facilitated a group of volunteers from october 26th-november 12th and had at least 500 plus people stop by our booth To pick up materialslouisiana Right To Life continued To be a regular participant in local and national media. In 2023, our total local tv viewership surpassed one million, and lartl was featured by national media outlets like the new york times, the wall street journal, the Washington examiner, vox, forbes, and cnn. In june of 2023, the state's paper the times picayune/advocate, highlighted the work of Louisiana Right To Life on the front page. They also called lartl "the state's powerful anti-abortion lobby."
Louisiana Right To Life advanced its mission in 2023 through its various general education programs! Here are a few highlights of the initiatives:louisiana Right To Life hosted five Life marches across the state in january under the theme "everyone deserves a birthday", uniting over 4,500 citizens who marched To defend babies and help moms. We marched in lake charles, baton rouge, alexandria-pineville, monroe-west monroe, and shreveport-bossier.louisiana Right To Life held our second annual pro-life summit in baton rouge, a statewide conference for all pro-life leaders and activists. Participants came together To discuss innovative ideas and help with an accompanying baby-supply drive which served over 500 local moms and babies in the baton rouge region! Louisiana Right To Life traveled with a large "wrapped" rv tour bus that featured over 80 stops across the state, reaching thousands of individuals from the bayou To bossier! These stops featured the powerful testimony of dustin bertrand, a lafayette native whose mother chose Life for him after becoming pregnant from a sexual assault. We shared the importance of protecting babies no matter the circumstance of their conception. The tour also focused on the important resources available for pregnant mothers in need.in 2023, Louisiana Right To Life had 16 pro-life billboards up across Louisiana. These billboards were seen well over 90 million times by travelers driving on the road! In 2023, there were billboards in four regions of the state: greater new orleans, acadiana, central, and north Louisiana. All billboards include reference To a website or hotline that can connect pregnant women To local agencies that can provide assistance both before and after the birth of a child.during 2023, the Louisiana black advocates for Life project continued its mission of increasing involvement of the black community in pro-life advocacy efforts. Labal made a meaningful impact in 2023, reaching an estimated total of over 15,000 individuals through interviews, speaking events, outreach, and community engagement throughout the state with a clear message promoting the sanctity of Life. Examples of the work included the love Life gatherings in baton rouge and monroe, a diaper and formula supporting 2,000 families, and the black advocates athlete promotions featuring college athletes such as dorian camel (track & field), john emery (football running back), emery jones (football offensive line), and others. Lartl hosted multiple events To raise support for the organization. These events also provide information and inspiration To those who attend. The events included the proudly pro-life gala in january in downtown new orleans attended by over 1,200 people with tim tebow as the keynote speaker and the chers bebes soiree for Life in october in lafayette attended by over 200 people.louisiana Right To Life has one of the strongest social media outreaches of any state pro-life organization. Our facebook, instagram, tik tok, and twitter activity engages citizens in ways the organization is unable To in a face-to-face manner. Altogether we reached over 2.3 million people over social media in 2023. Collectively on all of our social media platforms, we have over 53,000 followers and made thousands of posts over the course of 2023.the lartl center for medical ethics provided educationon very important, often forgotten, "end of Life" issues and other medical ethics information.preaux Life and other merchandising, bumper stickers, magnets, and t-shirts promoted pro-life awareness across the state and are sold online and at events To cover print cost.lartl sponsored "radio minute" ads To christian radio stations To provide education on fetal development, abortion, adoption, support for moms, and more.to serve moms in need in new orleans, Louisiana Right To Life hosted a nola-to-go baby bag giveaway on february 25 and distributed more than hundreds of diapers, soap, baby wipes, and formula To families in need.
