Louisiana Delta Ballet brings quality ballet to North Louisiana and held a Very Merry Oz Christmas from December 12-15, 2017. The original ballet was performed for school children ages 6-18 with a total of 10,600 in attendance, while the Gala performance attracted over 850 attendees. Additionally, they hosted a Summer Intensive Dance Workshop from July 7-29, 2017 for approximately 130 dancers, featuring classes taught by professional dancers and choreographers in ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern held at Monroe Civic Center.

Program areas at Louisiana Delta Ballet

A Very Merry Oz Christmas was held on December 12 - 15, 2017. There were 7 performances provided to school ghildren ages 6-18 with a total of 10,600 in attendance. There was also a Gala performance with over 850.1n attendance. 0s The original ballet included excellent choreography that was executed through various styles of dance and music. The ballet featured the iconic Oz characters (Lion, Tinman, Scarecrow, Dorothy and Toto) on a Christmas adventure in OZ The program included over 100 artists, with 5 of those being professional paid artists. The program also included approximately volunteers who helped with costuming, set design, stage hands, and providing lunches for the cast and crew. All performances were held at the Jack Howard Theater at the Monroe Civic Center in Monore
Summer Intensive Dance Workshop was held July 7 - 29,2017. A 10-day intensive workshop for approximately 130 dancers age with classes taught by professional dancers and choreographers in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern. Classes were held at Monroe Civic Center Complex and Missy Crain Dance Studios in Monroe, LA. A performance for the general public was held on the Jast might of workshop. ooo
Annual competition and performance “Dancing with the Louisiana Stars" was held March 11, 2017 at Monroe Civic Center Arena. Eighteen local celebrities were paired with Louisiana Delta Ballet dancers and competed for Dancing with the Louisiana Stars Champion, In addition to the competition, the Louisiana Delta Ballet company dancers performed 3 numbers Approximately 500 were in attendance
