Program areas at Lorain County Boys and Girls Club
EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. Power Hour is a comprehensive tutoring program. Club Tech teaches club members practical computing and research skills. Career Prep educates children about career opportunities and provides skills necessary for teens to enter the workforce. Approximately 6,000 youth served.
SPORTS, FITNESS AND RECREATION. The Club provides facilities, camps and daily fitness and sports programs for youth along with recreational opportunities to develop leadership, sports skills and the overall health of the members. Aproximately 6,000 youth served.
CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. Keystone Club is a leadership development program for ages 14-18. Torch Club is a service learning experience for children ages 11-13. Youth of The Year is a recognition program that celebrates club members service. The YES ZONE collaborative coordinates the efforts of several Lorain County organizations serving youth to provide a consistent effort for the overall development of young people. Approximately 6,000 youth served.
