Program areas at Long Beach Education Foundation

Educare is Foundation's biggest program. Educare provides direct intensive early Education and care to children to promote school readiness, reduce the achievement gap and break the cycle of poverty by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 years through the provision of evidence-based Education, health, nutritional, social, and other services to enrolled children and their families. Educare works to help uplift the surrounding communities and sparks the adoption of high quality early learning policies and practices throughout the region and state.
Scholarships and grants given to students. These include the scholarships in escrow awarded to eighth grade students who agree to take challenging, college prep classes and finish high school. When they enroll in college, they receive the financial award. The Foundation also honors students at the most inspiring student awards dinner and provides school uniforms to needy students.
Support for teachers, school sites, programs and students. These include providing classroom support to teachers for innovative projects to increase student performance and additional funding for literacy, field trips and other classroom needs.
