Description
Literacy for Incarcerated Teens collaborates with educators, librarians, volunteers, and staff to enhance the reading ability and interest of detained youth in New York. The program provided Library and Literacy Program grants to eight juvenile detention centers resulting in 78 author visits through Zoom and in-person. Additionally, workshops on writing, film, poetry, theater, and book reviewing were organized serving about 1019 students. The program consultant received a Staff Development grant to present the effectiveness of their programs at the World Literacy Summit.
