LitArts RI provides support to Rhode Island's estimated 22,000 creative writers, podcasters and those who benefit from living in a state with a strength in the literary arts. The organization operates an award-winning Center in Providence offering creative workspace designed for writers, meeting and training rooms, and a podcast room, as well as a library of signed, RI-authored books. LitArts RI programs include more than a dozen ongoing author groups for niches such as Science Fiction and BIPOC authors; craft workshops led by teaching artists; and, 'the business of writing' practicums. In addition, the organization holds write-ins and spoken word events at external locations including local bookshops and arts centers.
