Buildings and groundsset on nearly 49 acres of park-like setting, Lincoln Park zoo is one of the few zoos in the nation that offers free year-round admission and is home to more than 750 animals, many of which are endangered or threatened, that reside in a variety of buildings designed to house animals habitats, some of which are historically landmarked.
Visitor servicesapproximately 3.6 million visitors come to zoo grounds every year to discover the wonders of wildlife in the heart of chicago.
Animal care and conservationlincoln Park zoo has one of the largest zoo-based conservation & science departments in the country, with experts in areas including urban wildlife; behavioral, cognitive, and welfare research; computer modeling of populations and ecosystems; and the study of hormones and disease.
