Program areas at Lincoln Hills Cares Foundation
Since 2015, the collaboration has been an opportunity to leverage Lincoln Hills Cares (LHC) physical resources and outdoor curriculum to launch a formal outdoor education program with Boys & Girls Clubs of Colorado and other local and regional nonprofit organizations. Through additional investment and partnerships with LHC, Denvers underserved youth have experienced the wonders of Colorados natural resources, increased their knowledge of Colorados history, blended fun outdoor experiences with educational outcomes, and been exposed to outdoor and stem relatedcareers that they might not have previously been considered.
At Heart & Hand, we disrupt the cycle of poverty for children and families in Northeast Denver. We are a community- based resource that provides individualized guidance and critical connections for each child and their family. Through one-on-one caregiver support and our signature out-of-school programming and whole-child focus for youth ages 7-20, we foster incredibly strong, long-term relationships. We are committed to ensuring our families experience a loving community, overcome barriers, and find a path to realize their potential. H&H serves low-income families who live in various Northeast Denver neighborhoods, including Five Points, Clayton, Cole, Whittier, Skyland, Park Hill, Elyria-Swansea, and Montbello. H&H acknowledges that the students the organization serves are extremely ambitious and hard-working, yet hold multiple, intersecting marginalized identities that limit their ability to escape cycles of generational poverty and overcome the achievement gap.
The foundation conducts fundraising through solicitation of public support and application for grant funding to support the charitable programs of Lincoln Hills Cares. The foundation creates pathways that lead to outdoor experiences which provide opportunities to increase awareness of the environment and the rocky mountains. The funding increases the opportunity for diversity and inclusion. The foundations financial support of Lincoln Hills Cares (LHC) will continue to enable its ability to develop the next generation of young leaders through education and recreation, cultural history exploration, and stem field career exposure, and eventual workforce advancement.
