Program areas at Leander Educational Excellence Foundation
Leef grant program provides teachers the opportunity to request funding for innovative programs and resources in their classroom to improve education. Leef also funds larger collaborative grants that have a larger impact across a grade level, department or campuses.
Student programs in leef's program expenses funded the 3rd and final year of a full-time mental health license therapist position for the district. The district was in a position to absorb this staff position into its budget
College & career readiness funds various initiatives such as a part-time college and career staff position at all 7 lisd high schools. This position was dedicated to leef to help students prepare for life after high school graduation. These funds also paid for students who could not afford to take the advanced placement tests to earn college credit; and to purchase textbooks for dual-credit courses being offered through austin community college.
Leef funds various direct programs like ap testing, fine arts programs, career and technical education, access student programs, college coaches, dual credit textbooks, srp reading grants, incubabor, early literacy support, star banquet, student and family support services, and various designated donations.
