Program areas at Leadership Council on Legal Diversity
Membership drive and meeting held to promote Diversity in The Legal profession. There were 230 attendees at The annual membership meeting in 2022.
Founded in 2011, The fellows program connects high-potential, diverse attorneys from lcld member organizations for a year-long professional development program focused on Leadership and relationship building. The program provides participants with The opportunity to learn from top leaders in The Legal profession as well as experts in The fields of learning and development and executive coaching. There were 467 lcld fellows in 2022.
The lcld law school mentoring program is a comprehensive initiative for first-year law students from diverse backgrounds to be paired with volunteer attorneys from lcld member organizations. In 2022, 859 mentor/mentee matches were made.
The lcld 1l scholars program was created to strengthen The Legal pipeline by expanding opportunities for diverse first-year law students to spend The summer working side-by-side with attorneys at lcld member organizations. In 2022, there were 856 1l scholars. In 2022, 480 diverse, high-potential, early career attorneys at lcld member organizations participated in The lcld pathfinder program. The goal of this program is to provide pathfinders with practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks through relationship building skills, foundational Leadership skills and an understanding of career development strategies applicable to both in-house and law firm practice.
