Latinos in Action

Held 7 Hybrid Youth Leadership Conferences: three in Utah, two in Florida, one in Arizona, and one in Connecticut, with 9 additional states participating virtually. These 1-day Hybrid Conferences had an Opening and Closing ceremony held at 2 different in-person school locations, with additional participants viewing a live broadcast through Zoom. Held 4 Hybrid Student Boot Camps: two in Utah and two in Florida students, with students from Utah, Florida, and 11 additional states joining the events virtually. Students were trained on how to lead and guide their classes. They also learned social emotional learning (SEL) tools to prepare them to come back to school after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organized Masterminds groups that allow LIA student leaders to set and complete goals for their LIA classes, gathering as LIA regional leaders to support and hold each other accountable. All LIA schools were assigned a Masterminds group of less than 10 schools that meets quarterly, with the first session happening during the summer Boot Camp and the other three sessions happening during the school year.
