The Kimberly Park Tennis Association provides free yearlong tennis Instructions to youth in under-served communities and provides academic enrichment for the players using tennis as an incentive to get the children to study more. Our mission is to develop character in young people by combining tennis and education. And using tennis as an incentive to get young people to study more, so that they may become more productive citizens.

Program areas at Kimberley Park Tennis Association

(NJTL) National Junior Tennis & Learning Program: Our National Junior Tennis & Learning Program provide free tennis instructions to youth participants yearlong. In exchange for getting the free tennis instructions, participants must agree to complete two hours per week of online academic enrichment. We use the online academic enrichment platform www.education.com for grades pre-K to 5th grade and www.ixl.com for grades 6th through 12th.
IN-SCHOOL TENNIS PROGRAM: The Kimberley Park Tennis Association provides free in-school tennis training to all students in an elementary school full-time for the duration of the school year. There are 254 students at the school that receive tennis lessons when they go to their physical education classes. Cost of program: labor cost of full-time professional tennis coach $38,628 in in-kind donations of professional services, cost of balls, racquets and training materials $2,500.
WHEELCHAIR TENNIS PROGRAM: We have a free year-long wheelchair tennis program. The program is for both children and adults. we provide the balls racquets and sports wheelchairs for players without them. We also provide winter indoor tennis training at a local indoor tennis center at no cost to the participants. we also provide a certified physical therapist at practices to assist in transferring special needs players from their personal wheelchair to the sports chair for tennis play.
