Program areas at KAS
Adult community Autism program: kas' adult community Autism program (acap) offers flexible Services and supports to men and women with an Autism spectrum disorder to assist them to develop skills to reach their goals and participate meaningfully in their community. Services are tailored to each person's specific needs and can be readily modified as needs change. These comprehensive Services integrate health care, improve social skills, support vocational and leisure activities, and assist families and caregivers. Acap served 186 adults living in dauphin, lancaster, cumberland and chester counties in Pennsylvania during the fiscal year.
Adult/adolecent vocational Autism initiative of lehigh:kas' vocational Autism initiative of lehigh (avail) is designed specifically to meet the needs to young adults transitioning from high school to pursue employment, higher education, and increased independence in their home and community. Young adults must live in lehigh county, Pennsylvania and be between the ages of 12-35. Families are also supported to develop ongoing natural and community supports. Avail served 23 individuals during the fiscal year.
Waiver funded residential:kas' waiver funded residential supports adults with Autism to live independently in the community. The type and amount of Services are determined by each person's needs and can range from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day. Each person works with their family, staff, and other people of their choosing to develop a plan based on their goals, including employment and participation in the community. Waiver funded residential served 2 individuals during the fiscal year.
