Major exhibitions: there is a body: legacy of the ancestral arts in the 21st century, young artists 2024, stories of syria's textiles: Art and heritage across two milennia, jonathan becker: lost time, guest of honor: andy warhol, wu chi tsung: synchronicity and learning center: the bluest of blues. Learning center: stellar reverberations: african masks in outer space, an ode to textiles: poetry and Art, rhonda khalifeh: immortal stitch, portrait mode.
Education programs: the kma offers group visits, school programs, educational materials, family programs and community partnerships that make the kma's exhibitions accessible and relevant to the needs and interests of diverse audiences. Education programs are presented at the Museum, offsite at local schools and community based organizations, and virtually.the pollack family learning center offers a family friendly, accessible, hands-on learning center space that is transformed seasonally to align with the main exhibitions. Other offerings include 3 family day events, a robust docent training program that prepares a roster of community volunteers to give adult and school tours, an annual young artists high school exhibition, and multi-session partnership programs with schools and community service organizations. Notable examples include arte juntos/art together, a bilingual Art and literacy program for latinx families, and thinking through the arts, a multi-session writing and Art program for grades 2-6, and professional development workshops for k-12 educators. Adult programs: the Museum offers free guided tours daily as well as group tours for community organizations. In addition, a robust series of in-person and virtual public programs are presented throughout the year, including artist talks, panel discussions, senior programs, and adult Art making workshops. The kma served over 20,000 people through education and public programs in fy 2024.
