Kook made progress with the community fog drip water catchment system project. Civil engineering plans for the project were submitted to dhhl and state historic preservation. The organization is currently waiting on approval from both agencies so it can move forward with site work and construction. This project was funded by an initial dhhl grant of 70,000 on 2/9/20. Its purpose is for construction of an experimental fog water catchment system for resident non-potable ag and livestock water use. All initial grant funds have been disbursed and the grant closed out. On 2/9/24, kook received supplemental dhhl funds of 70,000 to proceed with actual construction and has a project completion goal of 2024.kook secured a grant from the county of maui of 80,000 for its Kahikinui community center water tank and roof catchment system project. The purpose of the project is to provide resident non-potable ag and livestock water.
