Program areas at Juneau Community Foundation

The foundation continued to grow through 2018 with the establishment of two new funds: the cancer connection agency fund and the marie darlin arts & literature prize endowment; and four community project funds: the concert organ fund, the pelican playground fund, and the strings & stories fund. The juneau community foundation funds support a variety of interests and charitable passions (including teacher training, youth activities, trauma informed schools, social services, and public trails). The foundation now consists of a total of 59 funds with an asset value of $55 million.during 2018 total donations to local nonprofits was over $3 million. The juneau hope endowment fund and cbj social service grants provided over $1.8 million in grants to thirty not-for profit organizations providing services for substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, hospice, mental health, homelessness, victims of violence, job training, health and education.
