Program areas at Juneau Community Foundation

The Foundation continued to grow through 2019 with the establishment of new funds: forever friends of the state library, archives & museum endowment, Juneau nordic ski club, brian mahoney memorial; Community project funds: blue ticket theater, hilda dam cabin at eaglecrest, Juneau carbon offset, Juneau housing first phase ii, new glory hall, treadwell ditch renovation; and, contributions to our Community impact funds: youth & education, arts and culture, parks, trails & recreation, and Community wellness. The Juneau Community Foundation funds support a variety of interests and charitable passions . The Foundation now consists of a total of 66 funds with an asset value of 66 million. During 2019 total grants and scholarships to individuals was over 3.5 million. The Juneau hope endowment fund and cbj social service grants provided over 1.8 million in grants to social service not-for-profit organizations providing services for substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, hospice, mental health, homelessness, victims of violence, job training, health and education.
