The mission of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation is to partner to present memorable performance and provide inspired arts education for all. The main program is the Freeman stage-an outdoor performing arts venue in selbyville, Delaware. A total of 53 performances which included a wide range of genres were presented in 2017 to over 44,344 patrons between memorial day and mid-september. Over 42% of the 2017 performances were free including the saturday morning children's series. Additionally, many of our paid performances were free admission for children 12 and under. In addition to performances at the Freeman stage, the organization partners through its arts in education series with all nine school districts in sussex county, de and schools in worcester and wicomico county, md to introduce and engage students in grades k-12 to a variety of diverse arts which include poetry, visual arts, opera, music, dance, and more.
