In 2023, joshprovides received 1,248 inquiries for information and Assistance, more than double the 660 inquiries received in 2021. The organization was able to award 246 grants to 190 unduplicated individuals totaling $87,735. These grants included: four (4) seizure response dogs; seventy-five (75) seizure alert and detection devices including the fda approved embrace2 watch, emfit movement monitor and sami3 motion video alarm; seventy-three (73) medical services grants for mri and eeg testing, cooling vests, helmets and doctor visits for the treatment of seizures; and ninety-four (94) transportation grants for clients to get to their medical appointments. Our Epilepsy support group continued meeting virtually twice a month and offered several community socialization opportunities; there were seventy-seven (77) unduplicated participants at the twenty-five (25) gatherings held in 2023. In addition, joshprovides distributed gift cards to thirty (30) support group members in recognition of purple day in march 2023 and distributed forty-three (43) gift cards to support group members during november 2023, Epilepsy awareness month.
