Our facility functions as both a food bank and a food pantry. We rescuefood that would otherwise be discarded and distribute it where it isneeded. We have agreements with grocery chains and wholesale fooddistributers to pick up their surplus on fixed schedules. The dailyoperation consists of sourcing and gathering food, sorting and catologingthe food, then warehousing the inventory to be distributed to our partneragencies throughout south Florida. A few time each week we distributefood from the warehouse to local people in need. We supply other pantries,churches and soup kitchens as an as needed basis.
